The Chamber has many committees to divide up the work and create opportunities for members and interested individuals to come together for the common good of the community. Anyone interested in helping with the committees should contact one of the officers or the chamber office.

Active Committees

Membership
This committee seeks out and welcomes new members, and works to maintain existing members. They have created a membership packet that outlines the benefits of Chamber membership in detail.

Chicken BBQ
The funds for our scholarships are generated by the Chicken BBQ. It was held on August 20, 2011 at the Milanof Schock Library (rear). See Projects Page for pictures from previous chicken barbecues.

Banquet Committee
Our Annual Banquet and Auction was held at The Gathering Place on Friday, March 11th. The auction brought in over $12,000 to be used for Chamber projects and scholarships. Everyone had a great time and you can view pictures on the "Projects" page. Next year's Banquet and Auction will be held on Friday, March 16th so be sure to join us. There are also two videos which show the members at the 2009 banquet and Senator Mike Brubaker's presentation to the Chamber for its 70th Anniversary. You can access them at http://www.aidemsolutions.com/mjcc/mikebrubaker and http://www.aidemsolutions.com/mjcc/birthday

Special Project Committees are formed as they are needed. Committees that we are currently working on creating are:

Technology Committee - If you know about current Technology and can handle any issues that may arise this committee is for you.

Educational Seminars Committee - A committee to look into the many options would be very supportive to our local business owners/Chamber members.

Special Events Committee - Special events such as an annual Shred-It Event, Barnstormers game, Rotary Popcorn Festival and MSMJ events that the Chamber participates in always take some planning along with volunteer planning.

Sign Committee - The Chamber has a sign at the East end of town that need updated. Some of the organizations on it no longer exist and new ones need to be added.

If you have an interest in joining any of the above committees, please call the Chamber office at 653-0773.
