Mount Joy Chamber of Commerce Teams

The Mount Joy Chamber has many teams to divide up the work and create opportunities for members and interested individuals to come together for the common good of the community. Anyone interested in becoming a member of any of the teams should contact one of the Chamber board members or the Mount Joy Chamber office.

Active Teams

Membership Team
This committee seeks out and welcomes new members, and works to maintain existing members. They have created a membership packet that outlines in detail the benefits of Mount Joy Chamber membership.

Chicken BBQ Team
The funds for our Mount Joy Chamber scholarships are generated in part by the proceeds from the Chicken BBQ. A lot of work goes into planning the Annual Chicken BBQ. If you would like to be on this Team, please contact the Chamber office. It is a fun event!!

The 2013 18th Annual Mount Joy Chamber Chicken Barbecue will be held on August 17th from 10 am to 2 pm, at the Milanof-Schock Library (rear). In 2012 the event was sold out by 11 am so be sure to purchase your tickets as soon as they are available.

Banquet & Auction Team
The 2013 Annual Mount Joy Chamber Banquet & Auction was held on Friday, March 1 at The Gathering Place. The evening of fun began when the doors opened at 5:30 p.m. with appetizers and drinks available and everyone and everyone was checking out the silent auction items and placing their bids. The evening continued with a fabulous meal and the live auction.

The Annual Banquet is a major fundraiser for the Mount Joy Chamber and with more than $10,000 being raised in 2013 for Chamber projects and Mount Joy Chamber Scholarships.

The 2014 Annual Banquet is scheduled for April 1 at The Gathering Place. If you would like to be on the Banquet Team, please contact the Chamber office. There are many different responsibilities that need taken care of in the planning of the Annual Banquet and we would be thrilled to have you help!

Special Project Teams are formed as they are needed. Some additional Teams that have already formed or we are currently working on creating are:

Technology Team

The Technology Team has put many hours into working on a new website to give our Chamber members more exposure. If you would like to be a part of the Technology Team, please call the Chamber office.

Educational Seminars Team

The Educational Seminars Team schedules the Legislative Breakfast and the Economic Update with a representative from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.

The 2013 Legislative Breakfast is scheduled for June 4 at The Gathering Place, 6 Pine Street, Mount Joy.  If you are interested in being a part of this Team, please contact the Chamber office. If you would like to attend the Annual Legislative Breakfast you must contact the Chamber office to RSVP by May 31. The cost to attend is $15 per person and checks should be made payable to: Mount Joy Chamber. Simon Lever of Lancaster is a sponsor of the 2013 Legislative Breakfast.

The 2013 Economic Update is scheduled for October 9th at The Gathering Place. Ardy Wurtzel will be there representing the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia and will be giving us an Economic Update. Please watch for more information.

Special Events Team

The Special Events Team plans and sets into motion special Chamber events such as Shred-It Event, Barnstormers games, participates at the Rotary Popcorn Festival, and MSMJ projects & events.

Sign Team

The Mount Joy Chamber has a sign at the East end of town that needs updated. Some of the organizations on it no longer exist and new ones need to be added. Thank you to Eastern Mobile Wash for cleaning this sign for the Chamber. We hope to be updating this signage shortly. If you have interest in the sign below town and would like to help with the updating, please contact the Chamber office.
